Dear Friends and Family,
We hope this message finds you in good health and spirits. We are reaching out to you today with a heartfelt request for your support.
Maresa and her family are currently facing one of life's most challenging battles – cancer, specifically stage 3 rectal cancer. As you can imagine, this diagnosis has turned their lives upside down, and we are determined to do everything in our power to help the Lundy family fight this disease and come out stronger on the other side. After experiencing issues this summer Maresa went in for a routine colonoscopy expecting to discuss diet modifications but walked out with a diagnosis. The horror! Can you imagine this as a healthy 42 year old mom?!
They are surrounded by a loving support system of friends and family who believe in their ability to overcome this obstacle. However, we also recognize the immense emotional and financial burdens that come with cancer treatment. Medical bills, medications, frequent hospital visits, and other expenses in addition to not working for a time. People have already shown overwhelming support and want to know ways they can help Maresa, Landon, Carmen and Rico in this time of need.
Here are some ways to help!
- Send notes! Let’s overwhelm Maresa and family with memories, thoughts and good feels that she can read and share with her loved ones during her weekly treatments! Goal is to collect messages and provide them to Maresa the day(s) of her treatments. We plan to make a book with all of these messages later. Please contact me via gofundme or feel free to send directly to her with “Treatment Message” in subject line. Theme for Oct 4th Treatment: Tell Maresa about a time you were proud of her, or when she did something amazing/special. Please send by Oct 3rd for this first round
- Care packages! Please reach out via gofundme for ideas or address.
- Create a special play list and share via apple music
- Meal Certificates (Uber eats, gift cards, amazon etc)
- Handwritten cards or notes, something that will make her smile, laugh or cry happy tears
- Donate to the GoFundMe! Frequent trips to Seattle, medical bills, deductibles etc. Landon will keep working but let’s take some of the financial burden off their plate. Let’s overwhelm them with love and support anyway we can. I know there are people who love Maresa in all parts of the country and world, this is an easy way to help
Maresa will start treatment in Bozeman but is being overseen by Fred Hutchinson in Seattle which is where she’ll receive her surgery after chemo and radiation. She will receive her port next week and start treatment on Oct 4th.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love and support I have been shown in the last few weeks. Friends old and new, near and far, friends of friends, and strangers have outpoured love. In this hard time it has been beautiful to read the messages and see the support from so many walks of my life. It is simply amazing and I am so grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Update on chemotherapy-
Day 1 of infusion and oral treatment is down. I will continue oral treatment for 2 weeks then rest a week and start it over again. So far so good. I’m not in pain, have not vomited, and still have some energy. Thank God for modern medicine and my amazing team of doctors and nurses.
