On September 24 at 2AM, my sister Kallie was headed home from being with friends and noticed our other sister, Madison, and her boyfriend Joey’s apartment in flames. Madison and Joey were both asleep inside, but thank God Kallie was able to wake them up and get them out before everything was engulfed in flames. The fire grew so quickly it was estimated to be 30 feet tall. If Kallie would have not seen the fire, we know they would have slept through it and they wouldn’t be with us now.

They ran through the smoke filled apartment looking for their three cats who were terrified and hiding, but were only able to find two until 30 minutes after the fire department arrived they were able to rescue the third. The cats need immediate medical help. They were panting and have inhaled smoke, but they are alive.

Joey tried to put the fire out, but the fire extinguisher provided by the apartment complex was faulty and did not work. The fire fighters deemed that there was no specific cause of the fire, but they have lost everything. They are devastated, traumatized and are left with nothing. They have no clothes, shoes, pet supplies, or even bare necessities to take care of themselves. They lost all of their sentimental items they cannot replace. Their furniture, their electronics, glasses to see, Madison’s phone, a bed to sleep in, a place to live.
