Help Lucas fight his battle

Hey everyone! My name is Chantal and I'm writing this on behalf of one of my oldest and dearest friends who needs our help and support right now.

This handsome dude right here is Lucas and he has a story to tell.

Like most boys, he enjoys running around and playing with his friends, especially his brother Brayden. Unfortunately that came to a seizing halt this past summer. Some of you may already know about the most devastating news that Lucas and his parents, Brandi and Jamie received back in July. No parent ever wants to hear the doctor say your child has cancer. Unfortunately its been a snowball effect of bad news since his journey began. Lucas and his family need our help.

You can only imagine what it's like trying to explain all of this to a 4 year old child, but after 6 rounds of chemo he is slowly starting to understand.

Lucas was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his right leg. What was originally just a tumour in his knee is now a tumour that goes from his knee to his hip. Lucas was waiting for his most recent results to come back to see how to further tackle his cancer. They have found spots that are confirmed cancerous on his lungs, but also have found spots on his spine, head and left leg that are unknown. Unfortunately with the tumour in his right leg being so large, the initial chemo given hasn't had any effect on slowing down or working in any of the other areas. Lucas is now waiting for surgery to fully remove his right leg. His chemo treatment plan will be changed to fight all the other areas of his body that have been affected.

This loving family has a long road ahead of them financially when it comes to fighting this battle, with treatments, hospital stays, fittings for multiple prosthetic legs and time off work.
