Help Loosey Beat Cancer

Hello, my name's Daniel Davenport. I'm hoping to raise some money to help mitigate the costs for recent emergency medical expenses I've had to take on for the sweetest pup in the whole world, Loosey. Loosey has been by my side for almost 10 years, since she was 8 weeks old, when she could stand in my palm with all 4 paws. She's the light of my life and I think anyone who's met her would agree she makes the world seem a little less dark.

A month ago Loosey developed a red lump on her upper right thigh, the lump developed into an ulcerated wound with an infection. I've spent 30+ hours at 3 different vet clinics/ERs and over $3000 the last 3 weeks waiting on test results and trying to figure out what's wrong with her. She's already undergone anesthesia for a deep wound cleaning with 2 stitches, been taking multiple antibiotics & anti inflammatory medications plus a twice daily cleaning regimen at home. You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at her though (minus the cone of shame she thinks is her collar) she's still as rambunctious as ever, demanding your affection and constantly wanting to play or go for a walk. She's been eating and drinking regularly and is as happy as ever despite the situation.

Last week, I finally got back the culture results that showed a pretty nasty infection (that was immune to the antibiotics we'd been prescribed for 2 weeks while waiting on said test result) and we were able to get a priority bypass through the ER at BluePearl animal hospital for an emergency surgical consultation. They ran a bunch of tests including bloodwork, FNA, & chest scan. The chest scan was clear and all of her blood work was normal but the FNA test showed benign and malignant cells they said looked consistent with fibrosarcoma. It's most likely a localized tumor since all of her blood work looks fine but we'll need to get an ultrasound before surgery to make sure it hasn't spread. If the ultrasound results come back positive they'll do a marginal resection to try and remove as many of the cancerous cells as possible followed by radiation or chemotherapy treatment to kill the remaining cancer.

All we're looking for is an answer for how serious her condition is and to find this answer we need another $4500 for the ultrasound, mass removal and biopsy. This does not include any of the follow up treatment we'll need if the surgery goes well. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to help her if there's any chance that she could recover but only if it doesn't compromise the quality of the time we have left.

We are asking for help for Loosey to be able to live more of her life with us. She is our family and we need her, as she is more than just a dog in our house. She is our support, a shoulder to cry on, and she cares for us and anyone she meets. If you have met Loosey yourself, you would remember the warm, caring, and loving energy that lights up a room. The smile she makes after a long run, walk, or hike, and the cuddles and kisses she gives you to show you love.
