Hey everyone,
If you know me personally, you know I'm not one to ask for much help. I know you all have your own personal struggles to get through and I appreciate any of you who even read this. However, this is for my mother who means everything to me, and I would do anything for her. I know compared to other GoFundMe stories, this might be considered less of a tragedy, but for those of you who have pets, maybe you understand how hard it is to go through something like this.
A little back story first. My Father passed away 8 years ago in April, and my mom wanted a companion in the house with her to help her heal, so she got a German Shepherd pup and named him Milo. He was her support animal, her best friend and a ball of loving goofy energy to come home to. Eight years later, very suddenly and seemingly out of nowhere, Milo stopped eating. This was unusual since he was a big 100lb hungry boy 24/7. After 1 week at a regular vet getting test done and coming up short for a few routine checks, she was referred to a vet hospital. A few weeks back and forth with multiple overnight visits, countless testing and a lot of tears, they finally found out he had lymphoma and an inflammatory bowel disease. The best option was Cancer therapy (and about 8 other different pills) which was another 6,000 -20,000 and may not have extended his life for much longer if she chose that route. Looking at him every day was so difficult. He was 84 pounds, gaunt, and the light seemed to have faded from his sweet face. After contemplating treatment options vs quality of life for him during and after medical help, she made the very difficult decision to send him to dream land and stop his suffering. To add insult to injury, Milo passed away in April, a few days before the 8th anniversary of my Father's death.
I wish I could help her more, so that's why I've turned to all of you. Rest in peace Milo man, our big moose boy.
Any amount is appreciated, or just positive thoughts. Thank you for reading.
