HELP LEVI ALL-TERRAIN WHEEL CHAIR FOR LEVI
Donation protected
HI. My name is Teresa Partridge. I am a retired elementary school teacher who taught fifth, fourth and second grade children at Imperial Beach Elementry School for thirty-two years. I grew up in Imperial Beach, California, with my two brothers and sister , as did my mother and my two sons, who also attended Imperial Beach School. Growing up ,my family would pack in our VW bus and go on camping trips up to the mountains to hike, and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature. A tradition I passed onto my sons. I recently sold my home in Imperial Beach and bought a farm in New Hampshire.
I raised my two sons to be kind, good, fun- loving people who are loved by all who know them. My eldest son, Levi Partridge , 9this who this Go Fund Me page is for.
As I mentioned above I took my sons on camping trips up the coast of California, Oregon, Washington and Canada since they were babies. They grew up hiking and enjoying the outdoors. Both my sons have climbed mountains together, like Mt. Whitney, in California and have competed in the Carpeteria Triathalon near Santa Barbara together .
Levi also attended UCSB and graduated with a degree in Literature and Art History. He worked for McMillan Real Estate for awhile, then was a security guard for ELITE events and worked at the San Diego Chargers Training facility for a few years and then many years at REI. He didn't own a car, but would ride his bicycle, rain or shine, 50 miles a day to work and then to school. He wanted to be a physical therapist and had volunteered for 100s of hours at Scripps Hospital. It was then, when he started falling off his bike or running into things, or had slurred speech, that he knew there was a problem.
In 2017, at 39 years old, my son, Levi Partridge was diagnosed with ATAXIA, a neurological disease where the cerrabellum of your brain, which controls all your muscle movements and nerves starts to disintegrate. It is unknown how he got it and no known cure. He worked two jobs at REI and Target to pay his medical bills until he could no longer drive or stand or lift objects. He applied for permanent disability in 2022. He still has not been approved for social security. He has been using a walker, but it has become extremely difficult. He has come to live with me in New Hampshire. I was hoping the Natural environment would lift his spirits, but because of his condition, he just sits in his room. Depressed. A walker or regular wheelchair does not cut it on grass, mud, snow and inclines, which is all that's around me on my property.
I want to raise funds so Levi can purchase an All-Terrain Wheel Chair so he can go outside to enjoy nature. An All-Terrain wheelchair will allow him to move about my front and back yard, my driveway, my road, visit the lake, walking trails and the mountains. I'm hoping it will improve his spirits. Give him hope. A reason to live. Something to look forward to. Something he can do. Let him smile again. We do not have the funds or means to purchase one. I believe they range in price from $14,000 up.
