Help Kayla's Family Dog Healy Fight for His Life

My name is Nicole, and I’m reaching out with a very heavy heart. My close friend Kayla and her family’s sweet 1-year-old Cocker Spaniel–Yorkie Poo, Healy, is fighting for his life right now.

While Kayla and her kids were 1,000 miles away visiting their grandparents, they got the devastating call that Healy wasn’t okay. He suffered severe injuries under the care of someone else. We still aren’t exactly sure what happened. He was rushed into emergency care and is now in critical condition. His stomach filled with urine, and he currently has a catheter in place. He needs 24-hour care for at least the next 72 hours to give him the best chance of making a full recovery.

Healy isn’t just a dog to them—he is truly family. He is her kids’ baby, their best friend, and her little shadow. They also have two labs who know something is wrong, and their whole family feels the pain of seeing him like this.

So far, they’ve already spent $5,000 on emergency treatment. The specialist caring for Healy now believes that, with proper care, he can return to his happy, loving self—but the next 72 hours will cost another $9,200. They never ever thought they’d be in this position, but they’re heartbroken and desperate to do everything possible to save him.

She is the most caring and selfless person—always putting others before herself and never asking for anything in return. As a mother of two beautiful children, Kayla pours her heart into being the best mom she can be. Her kids are her world, and she does everything she can to make sure they are happy, loved, and cared for.
