Help Karen Cole Heal: Medical and Travel Costs

I am reaching out on behalf of Karen Cole, a beloved mother, friend, and community member, who has faced unimaginable health challenges over the past year. In October 2022, Karen underwent a life-saving double lung transplant. The surgery was a success, giving her a new lease on life. However, the journey has been far from easy.

Due to the necessary anti-rejection medications following her lung transplant, Karen's kidneys began to fail. After months of procedures, testing, appointments and hoping for another miracle, she recently received a kidney transplant. While we are incredibly grateful for the gift of life these transplants have provided, the financial burden has been overwhelming.

Karen's road to recovery involves numerous follow-up appointments, ongoing treatments, and the continuous need for costly medications. Additionally, there are significant travel expenses as she must frequently visit specialists located far from home. These expenses have quickly added up, creating a financial strain that is difficult to bear.

Karen has been able to be resilient due to the ongoing selfless, tireless care of her dedicated daughter, Dani. Dani has been a steadfast source of support throughout this journey, managing Karen’s care with love and devotion. Despite juggling her own responsibilities, Dani has ensured that Karen receives the best possible care. However, the financial challenges have added to the stress of an already difficult situation.
