My name is Juan Bettencourt, and I am reaching out for help as I try to rebuild my life after spending 14 years incarcerated. When I was a child, I lost my grandmother in 2016, and while I was still incarcerated, my mother almost passed away. A year ago, my father died, and I was unable to see him due to my incarceration. I spent all of my twenties and thirties locked up, and when I was finally released at 40, I found myself alone, with no family support and nowhere to turn.
Since coming home, I have struggled to get back on my feet. The program I was placed in promised to help with housing and clothing, but I have not received any support. I lost all my clothing and shoes, and with my father gone, I have no one left to help me. I am doing my best to start over, but it has been incredibly hard without the basics like clothes, shoes, and food. I want to work and become self-sufficient, but right now, I need a helping hand to get started.
Any support you can offer would mean the world to me. Your donation will help me buy clothes, shoes, and food as I work to build a new life. Please open your heart and help me take these first steps. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
