On July 4th Jonah Albertson, 16, was celebrating the holiday with friends and family when a tragic accident changed everything. Someone threw an explosive device into the fire pit, and in a split second Jonah acted selflessly and pushed his girlfriend out of harms way, taking the brunt of the explosion himself, causing him to be severely burned on his arms, hands, legs and face/head.
Jonah is currently in Portland Or at the burn center which is about 3 hours from where he and his family live. His loved ones are doing everything they can to be by his side, but the cost of travel, lodging and food is adding up quickly while he remains in the burn center for at least the next month. He will require several surgeries as well as skin grafts while there. The emotional and financial toll is overwhelming, and any help would make a world of difference. He is facing a long and difficult recovery.
We are reaching out with gratitude and humility asking for support-whether through donations, prayers or sharing Jonahs story. Your kindness an generosity will help Jonah and his family focus on healing and recovery during this incredibly challenging time. Thank you for your support and God Bless.
