Help John Barnhart Through a Medical Emergency

Hi, friends. I’m helping our friend John Barnhart, and his wife Ree, who find themselves in need.

  In early February, John began experiencing intestinal discomfort. When it became severe, he went to the ER. They found an abscess in his lower intestine which was near bursting. He immediately went in for surgery, where they drained the abscess. The culture came back positive for E. coli, and John is on IV antibiotics.

  John will likely need to undergo a bowel resection; once the infection subsides, they will reassess him. The doctors have told him that the next few weeks are pivotal.

  John and Ree have been struggling lately, and with John unable to work for, at best, two months, they are in real danger of being unable to pay their mortgage and medical insurance payments. Short-term disability payments will kick in eventually, but will hardly be enough to cover their bills.
