Help Joey Cover Unforeseen Surgery Costs

My name is Joey, and I am a transgender man who recently had top surgery.

I went into this procedure with approval from my insurance. The projected cost was around $3,000.

Im thrilled with the surgery results, but I received an unexpectedly large bill for the operation; nearly $6,000.

In March 2025, I am moving overseas to teach English and to be a cultural ambassador for the US.

I work full time and support myself, but I was not anticipating to pay double the projected cost for this procedure. Coupled with regular bills (car, insurance, rent, phone, other medical debts), I’m struggling to pay the additional 3k while simultaneously supporting myself and saving for my move.

I do not have anyone else to ask, so I am reaching out here for support from the community.

I am trying to raise half of my surgery cost, $3,000. This will help me get back on track by paying the half I did not anticipate.

This is a huge ask, especially in these times where I know one of many currently struggling with medical debt, so I sincerely appreciate your consideration.
