Hi, my name is Jessica. I'm currently a bartender in DC and living alone with my cat Marvel.

A few months back I had applied for a STAY DC extension for my current place to help get through the winter slow down and potentially leave a job that for my mental health was quite toxic. I was approved in November to cover December-February rent, which gave me the ability to leave that job and soon found another. Due to training shifts the paychecks at the start were very low but I had this STAY funding coming so I thought things were okay.

A month later, right after Christmas I have been informed that my STAY DC extension should not have been approved and I will not be receiving those funds that were wxpecred which has left me in a major hole and honestly scared of what to do next.

This is the last thing I want to do as I try to always figure things out myself but at this point I am asking for help. If you can, please help me forward... All funds will be to cover back rent and partial January rent to get me back in good standing.
