Help Jana And Her Family Get To Safety

My name is Madeline and I am a First Nations Journalist from Australia. As the genocide unfolded, I followed Jana Alfaleet’s updates on TikTok. She is an 11-year-old girl barely surviving in Gaza, and we have become friends who talk every day. After a video call with Jana and her family I decided I needed to do whatever I could to try and help them get to safety. We are fundraising to get them to Egypt to set up a new life, and in the meantime to cover food and necessities.

All money raised will be used in the immediate future for food and necessities for their whole family, with the bigger goal of getting them to safety in Egypt so they can set up a new life.

Hello, my name is Israa. I am 24 years old. I have a family consisting of a father, mother, and two sisters – Menna and Jana.

We live in Gaza in a genocidal war. We had a beautiful life before the war – we hiked, went to the sea, and visited our relatives with all love.

My father used to raise animals; cows, sheep and poultry. We had a good financial income, but this war prevented us from being able to feed ourselves, or our animals, and as a consequence we had to sell our animals.

Right now we suffer from continuous bombing, fear, terror, and hunger, and now my family suffers from an acute shortage of money, food, and medicine.

On our Holy Day on Friday, my family had to flee their family home to safety. It was terrifying to see the gunfire and bombings happening so close to our house. My sister Jana was in the middle of making a cooking video for TikTok to help gain more attention when it happened.

My mother, Nahla Al-Falit, who is 54-years-old, suffers from a mass in her breast. The doctors at the Turkish Friendship Hospital told her that it was necessary to remove it, which was supposed to be removed last October. Her operation was postponed due to the war.

My father, Saeed Al-Falite, who is 67 years old, suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease, and severe pain in his foot, but he did not find an opportunity for treatment due to the devastating war.

My sister, Jana, is 11-years-old and is an outstanding student in her studies. She has big dreams and ambitions. She hopes this nightmare will end and she can travel abroad to complete her studies and achieve her ambitions.

Finally, my sister, Menna Allah, who is 16-years-old, suffers from 50% hearing loss in both ears. She needs a modern electronic hearing aid design to be able to hear well.

I appeal to you to be conscientious and ask for your help to extend a helping hand and assistance to my family as soon as possible, as it is certain that nothing compares to the warmth of a family, and also to help us leave for a safe country so that I can help my family receive the necessary treatment.

We are still alive and we hope that everything will end and we will start again with your support and financial support for us and your sincere prayers, and we are certain that one day we will be able to return this debt to you.
