I am coming here in hopes that someone will feel led to help out one of the most selfless and amazing human beings I’ve ever known. To meet Heath is to love him. He is my nephew, only 20, and is in need of prayers and support while he waits for his heart. He has a genetic heart disease called AVRC, which, while scary in and of itself, hadn’t been an issue till now. He received his ICD, which is a pacemaker/defibrillator, in July due to his condition worsening. Then, 3 weeks later, one of the leads detached, and they had to revise it a second time. Two weeks ago, he started becoming dizzy and unsteady on his feet when upright and walking. Last Thursday, my sister rushed him to UK, where he was admitted to ICU. Upon figuring out things, it was found that a separate lead had perforated his heart, and he was bleeding into his chest. Monday, they did surgery to correct the lead. Even with the corrections, he was still not doing well, only today to find that he needs a new heart as his right ventricle has stopped being able to pump blood. My sister Keri and his Maddi (pictured with Heath) meets with the transplant team in the morning to start the process. If you cannot donate, please pray that he gets the perfect heart and that whatever family so graciously gives will be smothered in prayers as well. The proceeds will go to food, gas, lodging, and any other needs during this uncertain time. I will update as things progress, and I am so grateful for each and every one of you.
