I opened my front door one morning and froze.

Curled up against my doorstep was a small cat—barely moving, barely breathing. At first, I thought it was just sick or exhausted. But when I looked closer, I saw the truth… parts of its fur were missing, and its skin was badly injured. It looked like it had been burned and left to suffer alone.

I don’t know how long it had been out there, or what it went through before finding its way to my door. But somehow, through all that pain, it made it here.

It didn’t run when it saw me. It didn’t even try. It just looked up at me—tired, hurting, but still holding on.

I gently wrapped it in a towel and brought it inside. It was shaking, weak, and clearly in pain, but it stayed still… like it knew it was finally safe.

No animal deserves this. No living thing should have to go through that kind of suffering, alone and afraid.

Right now, this little cat needs urgent medical care—treatment for its injuries, pain management, and a real chance to heal. I’m doing everything I can, but the cost of emergency vet care is more than I can handle on my own.

I didn’t go looking for this… but it found me when it needed help the most. And I can’t turn away.
