Give Lashondra Time to Find Work

Donation protected
From Jon Wilwerding:

Step 1 has begun: On September 15th, Lashondra and her family got on a bus for Redding, CA.  Lashondra and her husband had already started sending resumes and applying for jobs in Redding, but Monday (September 18) they begin job hunting in earnest there (with some help from Northern Valley Catholic Social Services, I think).

As I said in my last update, the main idea is still to get Lashondra and her family to a city where housing is affordable and to help them find jobs there.  By the time Lashondra and her husband decided to move, the GoFundMe campaign had collected a total of $3,015 in donations. After subtracting GoFundMe's fee, this equaled approximately $2772.  This was about enough to pay for two weeks stay at Motel 6 in Redding (2 rooms at approx. $60/night + tax = $1884), and approximately $450/week for 6 people food, medications, and incidentals.  Starting September 18th, they can job hunt without needing to find money for shelter, food, medicine, or incidentals.

But they have no financial margin for error, and two weeks is not enough time! The GoFundMe campaign has added about $1,265, to the initial $3,015. For about another $2,500, we can make sure that Lashondra and her husband have one month to find jobs and make their family secure. (This would make the total a greater than $6030, to account for an extra half-week--a month is roughly 4 and 1/2 weeks--plus about $300.) To paraphrase Churchill, this is not yet the beginning of the end, but it could be the end of the beginning. Please help.  Thanks.
