Get Daddy/ Lalo Home

Donation protected
In October of 2007, Eduardo Huezo, my son-in-law who we affectionately call Lalo, went to the Consulate in Memphis to get his papers to become a legal US citizen so he could work and support his family here in the US, without fear of being deported. When he got there with my daughter Myka, then 8 months pregnant with their 3rd child,  they interviewed Lalo for three hours, and never got to Myka's interview before deciding what they would do.  They said they could tell that they were happily married and building their family together here, but they were going to have to deport him--assuring him that they would not put a 'bar' on his file, and he should therefore be back in about 3 months. They kept  Lalo there then, and Myka drove home alone to Knoxville to try to process what had just happened to their family.
Lalo went back to his family's home in Mexico, and he and Myka worked feverishly on getting the paperwork together to go to the Consulate in Mexico.  When Myka and Lalo arrived 1 1/2 years later at the Cuidad Juarez Consulate in Mexico, they were informed that there was a 10-year bar on Lalo's file, meaning he couldn't return to the U.S. or even reapply for a Visa until October 2017.
In an attempt to keep their family intact, Myka did everything possible. She and the kids moved to Mexico and lived with Lalo's family for a while, but their oldest daughter required medical help that could only be gotten in the U.S., and Myka needed surgery that would be better to have in the U.S. also.  They tried living on the border, with Myka and the kids traveling back and forth across the border every day to work and to go to school to be able to go home to their Daddy every day,  but  Myka needed another surgery and Lalo couldn't come across to help her, so they came back to Knoxville to live for a while so she could have that surgery and  recooperate.    Myka soon got a full time job where  she could work from home and be able to support the family.  So at that point she was raising their 4 children, working full time, and dealing with her medical issues as well as the children's medical issues.
The kids have had many challenges while Lalo has been gone.  Their oldest daughter (now 13) was  diagnosed with Epilepsy and has been  having a really hard time adjusting to meds that could help. She also has a rare heart deformation that may require surgery in the future.  Their second daughter (12 years old)  has experienced extreme, debilitating anxiety and daily head and stomach aches. Both girls will require homeschool next year. Their third child, a son,  (10 years old) has developed a rare polyp in his sinuses that requires surgery soon, and their youngest son (9 years old) says he lives in contant fear! Myka does her best to turn them to Jesus as their security and comfort, but they still need their Daddy's arms to comfort them and make them feel safe and secure! The special diets and supplements as well as special treatments required have added a huge extra cost that was unexpected. This has eaten into any savings Myka had put aside for the cost of the process needed to get Lalo home.
At the end of the 10 years (last October), Myka hired a lawyer who informed her that it could take 18 months and at least $8,000 to get him home, and that there are still no guarantees that he will get to come home even then.  Wanting to do anything that might help get Lalo home, she hired him to start the process.
Myka has had many health challenges while Lalo has been gone,  many of which cause her to live in constant pain, and that have made it hard for her to continue working, yet she has done just that.  She has supported not only her family here, but often sends money to Lalo and his family there in Mexico as needed.  These  things have also made it very difficult to save the money for the lawyer and to continue to keep up with the medical demands as well.
The next step with the lawyer will require about $4,000. As soon as the lawyer gets that he will be able to process a Hardship Case, and send in the sponsorship papers, etc.  Each of the subsequent steps will also require large sums of money to keep moving forward in the process to try to get Lalo home. Would you consider helping Myka raise the needed funds to keep the process  going? They so badly need their Daddy/husband home!
I would be very grateful for any help you can give to Lalo and Myka and their family.  They need prayer support from each of you and also any financial help you can give. Please consider whether God would have you contribute to their cause. Thank you in advance for your help!
