Spende geschützt
Hello, my name is Liesa. I am trying to raise money for my friend Gabby and her son, to fly from Australia to America to say goodbye to her mom, who has Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
I know Gabby from the childcare centre my twins attended for a couple of years, when we lived in Canberra. She was one of their Early Childhood Educators. I liked Gabby from the moment I met her. She is a genuine, honest, beautiful soul, whom my kids loved seeing at 'school' every week. And even though I didn't get to know Gabby as well as I would've liked (raising toddler twins allowed little time for a social life), I have remained friends with her on social media, which is how I found out about her mom's illness.
Today, my 5-year old son Flynn asked me what I was doing on the laptop. I explained that I was trying to set up a fundraising page to help raise money for Gabby to travel to the US to see her mother before she passed away. He looked at me with total distress etched across his face. "Is Gabby dying?" he asked, tears starting to fill his eyes. I quickly explained that Gabby was ok, but her mummy is super sick, and it was the same type of sickness that caused Aunty Tracey (a good friend of mine) to pass away. He swiftly offered to donate some of his pocket money. THAT is the kind of lasting impression Gabby left on his memory and his heart. That is the reason I want her to get home.
Time is of the essence. Please, donate some money if you are able. Any amount will do. If enough of us donate, maybe we can fly Gabby out there before the chance is gone.
