Help fund the Gentleman’s Club DIY skatepark

The Gentleman’s Club is a community do-it-yourself skate park built on the foundation of an abandoned night club in southwest Gainesville.  The name simply pays homage to the sites history, and is in no way meant to be exclusive.  The gentleman’s club is for everyone!    Some local skateboarders are unsatisfied with the outdated facilities provided by the city, and are tired of dealing with the city’s complacency in looking to update the park to better suit the community’s needs.  The site has been used for skateboarding activities for a number of years, and has grown and blossomed into what it is today.   After receiving support from the local police department, who are aware and tolerant of our activities, we felt it was the right time to reach out to the community, and ask for help.     The spot has unlimited potential, and can grow beyond our wildest dreams, but the cost of concrete construction is far from cheap.   All features constructed have been created and funded entirely out of pocket by a few skateboarders, scrounging together everything we have in order to improve the space for everyone’s enjoyment.    We come to you, the community to ask for your support.   The Gentleman’s Club is for everyone, no skateboarder or enthusiast will ever be turned away.  Our spot has one simple rule: RESPECT. That means treating the space and people that use it in a way that is encouraging, sustainable, and positive. Please help this community endeavor continue to grow and thrive.  Many thanks.
