Help Fund the First Eagle Cam on the North Shore!

WE HAVE REACHED OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL!

Although the numbers do not show it, due to a matching donor, we have reached our goal!

Thank you to EVERYONE who donated.

The webcams will be installed this September so anytime after that please go to the Hancockwildlife.org website and click on 'Live Cams' to find the Gleneagles webcam link.

The North Shore of Vancouver is home to 21 pairs of nesting Bald Eagles. The North Shore Eagle Network, in partnership with Hancock Wildlife Foundation, are excited to announce the planned instalment of web cameras on an eagles nest located in the Gleneagles neighbourhood of West Vancouver.

This will be the first eagle nest webcam on the North Shore!

The cameras will provide 24-hour viewing of the nest from anywhere, and for free, by visiting the Hancockwildlife.org website! We will be able to view the eagle’s yearly cycle from adding sticks to the nest, the laying of eggs, to feeding the chicks, right until they fledge. This is exciting because the cameras will help us monitor the chronology and productivity of the Gleneagles pair with greater precision than is possible from ground-based observation and give the general public insight into the lives of a pair of bald eagles.

Our goal is to raise $15,500. This will cover the cost of the cameras, installation and network connectivity.

Exciting news! We have a matching donor! John Welson and Hong Lin's Enduring Foundation will match dollar for dollar up to $7,500.

We hope that everyone shares our enthusiasm and will contribute to this important and fun monitoring project!

We plan to have the cameras up and running in September of 2024.

For an example of what a nest camera can provide visit the White Rock nest cam click on the following link https://hancockwildlife.org/white-rock-cams/ . As of May 5th there are two cute, almost 3 weeks old, chicks in the nest to view. In only 9 more weeks they will be full grown and ready to take flight!

We are excited to get a closer view of the Gleneagles pair and we hope that everyone shares our enthusiasm and helps contribute the necessary funds. Many thanks! North Shore Eagle Network.

PS a charitable donation receipt will be sent to you if a donation of over $100 is made:)
PPS please note there is a "tip Go Fund me services" option that automatically defaults to 16% tip. If you wish to offer a lesser tip or none at all please slide the button to the left or right accordingly.
