We, at Khitati made the intention in the last 10 days of Ramadan 2020 to build a house of worship for Allah SWT with an Islamic Center in the midst of Lahore. It is in the center of a thickly populated blue collar area in a village called 'Gohawa' opposite to Lahore International Airport. The purpose of the mosque is not only to be an area for prayers but to act as an Islamic Center for the much needed poor community. Our intention to build the mosque was to provide our family a chance to earn such a reward from Allah SWT that will be everlasting and ever promising even beyond our lives up to the day of Qiyamah.
A two story complex was graciously designed by a famous architect of Lahore with a main prayer hall and additional rooms for community services such as educational programs for adults and children, funeral services, nikkah services, counseling services and hifz/tajweed programs etc. The land was purchased with the niyah of the mosque. It is a little less than one kanal and once fully operational, the two story mosque can accommodate approximately 400 people for prayers with the provision of adding a third floor in future. Residential quarters for the Imam and Naib Imam are being built separately.
Currently the brick structure is being erected and second floor roof is about to be installed. Apart from the land cost, $18,200 has been spent to bring the construction to its current state. Initially, we were of the opinion that we should complete this project on our own. However, I was able to convince the family to share it through Khitati platform in case any of our friends, family members and our Khitati family would like to contribute as sadaqa-e-Jaria to this amazing opportunity and earn the everlasting reward from Allah SWT, as the house of Allah belong to no one but Him alone.
Khitati has been funding the project so far and will continue to do so with your support. Due to the scale of the project we have divided this into stages to make it easy, but the sooner the better as Rasool as Rasool Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said to do and complete the good deeds as soon as possible . It is encouraged to compete one another for whosoever gets the maximum rewards. Estimated cost of $35000 is required to complete Stage 1 of construction and to finish the ground floor for the Mosque to become operational.
Just like we spend our money and savings to make our lives comfortable in this world, we must work side by side to make our lives comfortable in the next world. Just because the next world is not visible to us, we ignore it and keep it for the later years of life. But if we see it from the eyes of Rasool Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم , who is Sadiq Al Ameen and who said that he can see Jannah and Jahannam right infront of his eyes, we will forget about this world and just start working for the ever lasting life.
Even a single brick that we install to build a house of worship for Allah SWT will speak for us on the day of Qiyamah. We will see its rewards and bounties not only in this world but especially on the day of judgement, and That Day we will wish that we should have put 2 bricks instead of one or a 100 bricks or a 1000 bricks or all the bricks in the mosque which will pray and speak for us on our final day.
