Help fund Phil’s future recovery

Hi, my name is John. I’m fundraising for my brother Phil.

Phil lives in a remote village in the Canary Islands. He flew into Chicago on June 2nd to attend a memorial for our sister. It was his first time home in 10 years.

while waiting overnight to catch a commuter flight to Northern Michigan he was struck by a Hit & Run driver when crossing the street to get something to eat.

He has been in Intensive Care on a ventilator. He sustained a skull fracture, cheek bone fracture, both lungs collapsed,

a front lobe subdural hematoma, lacerated kidney and rib fractures on both sides.

Phil lives on his social security, has basic Medicare and VA

health care from his service in Vietnam.

His wife flew in on June 14th to be at bedside. She required a traveling companion due to her health issues.

we have managed to cover the basic costs of flights and hotel stay for 2 weeks. They live very simply- no electricity and just received running water after 35 years.

we’ve just about tapped out their funds in this short time. With months of long term care, should he pull through,

what funds are left will soon be gone.

we are looking to cover the costs of transferring him to be closer to family in Northern Michigan and costs of living expenses for his wife.
