Who are we?
Freestyle Bristol is a website curated by young people, for young people. In response to the events of 2020, we decided our mission would be to shine a light on young people in our city, to capture their talent, stories and celebrate those who refuse to let the pandemic hold back their ideas. What have we done so far?
So far we have supported young people to produce features about DJs, athletes and filmmakers, and write articles about politics, music and apprenticeships. We also provide information on education, employment & training. Our next goal will be to run open-access workshops and projects, engaging a wider group of young people and providing the skills they need to create films and features on topics that excite them.

Why are we asking for money?
Since we began we have worked with a core group of young volunteers who have been instrumental in the planning and development of the organisation and its platforms. We would now like to be able to offer paid employment within the organisation as well as the necessary training to develop their careers.
How will the money be spent?
The funds raised will be used to employ young people as project coordinators, who will be creating & managing content across the digital platforms. Their roles will be initially on a part time basis but, we will be proactive in ensuring that they are financially sustainable in the longer term. We will also seek to increase further work opportunities as we grow our organisation.
