Please consider assisting Shay Brandon Burke as he battles post-stroke recovery!

Shay Brandon Burke has lived in London these past three years supporting his partner Greg in his lifegoal of attaining a PhD in Ancient Roman History.

Shay has been working odd jobs ranging from teaching gymnastics to television acting and even stand-up comedy (for which he recently won the British Comedy Guide Pro Performance of the year). Two weeks later, he suffered a stroke and has been having what they call seizure-like “events” 4-7 times daily that leave him foggy (at best) and regularly cause him to pass out.

As such, he is unable to work (but has signed up for an online course in digital marketing and blogging) and he is disallowed from flying home due to his high-risk health status. He has seen several doctors as well as a neurologist who said he has brain decline resembling a person thirty years his senior and described the situation as “concerning.”

If you know “Mr. Burke” you know he is a worker and an optimist and will push through everything he can control, but he and Greg are now facing obstacles beyond their means (his next appointment with a specialized neurologist is roughly 600 pounds simply for the consultation!).

Greg is scheduled to complete his PhD in eighteen months, but without additional income, they will be stuck. The need specifically is 12,000 pounds which would get them through the next 9 months and help cover the expected medical costs.

Hi my friends and family this is me, one week before, staying fit and healthy.

First, thank you Terry!!! And thank you to all who can show support. I want to come home, but we need Greg to finish his PhD so we can get back with full medical insurance, that's the goal.

Greg working hard and still teaching on-line classes for Taft College. Due to California's covid restrictions he lost his other classes at Bakersfield College. Greg is looking into taking a bartender position to help off set my loss of income.

Before we had a chance to launch this I had a bad episode this morning (Dec 18th) with new symptoms. Lost the full use of my legs for a short time. Got it back, but was back in the emergency room.

I'm home now and back on my feet, but have been having smaller episodes all day. I had a paid gig scheduled tonight...but

Please help us get through the next unknown months and get me back home.
