Help for Santa Rosa Kids

Sending this on behalf of my niece and nephew (Mia and Ethan Bittner from Santa Rosa, CA):
Hi, We are Mia & Ethan Bittner, and we are collecting money to support our classmates at Maria Carrillo High School and Rincon Valley Middle School, both in Santa Rosa. Many of our friends have lost their homes during the still-burning wildfires, and we would like to start a fund to help them with small treats/comforts from home that they left behind. At the high school, close to 12% of about 2,000 students are now homeless. We are lucky because although we had to evacuate 3 times, our home in Rincon Valley, Santa Rosa is so far intact.
Our Mom, who manages the fiscal and accounting units at the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office, will help us decide how to share your gifts and track what we buy responsibly. Some of the families have the means to bounce back from this tragedy, and others don't. Either way the trauma and grief will linger for some time. What we do know is that they have all lost small comforts that are uniquely their own and that any gesture to help with their stress, even small gifts, will help lift their spirits. These gifts of comfort will not be the families' priority as these families work to rebuild and restore homes, assuming they can. But every student should have something that is his or her own, even if it is little, to replace everything they've lost.
Will you help us? Our goal for this campaign is $2,000. School starts again this week, and we'd like to start helping our classmates right away.
