Help for Ramlo and Her Family

I hope you are all well and safe at this time inshaAllah.

May Allah accept our efforts during and after Ramadan, and forgive us for our short comings, Aameen.

During my recent trip to Qatar I met with Ramlo and her younger brother, and her father and mother, in Doha. They are a young Somali family who immigrated to Qatar in hope of getting medical treatment for Ramlo. Ramlo is about to turn 6 years old on Friday 1st May.

As you can see in the picture of the medical letter Ramlo suffers from a medical condition which has impacted her cognitive functioning; she unable to walk or talk. As medically advised there is a medical procedure that may be able to support her with her health and development.

Both Ramlo’s parent’s iqaamahs (residency permits) have expired and they cannot afford to renew their iqaamahs. This has caused major problems for the family, including fines, and also for her father who is now unable to work, while in Qatar, due to this.

Ramlo’s mother is now also 9 months pregnant and is due to give birth in the month of Ramadan.

There is no financial support or health care available to them and they have no relatives abroad that are able to help them.

We are aiming to raise £20,000 for the following:

Ramlo’s operation - $15,000

The cost of renewing iqaamahs and covering fines/debt - $7,400

Due rent for their home - $1000

A total of $23,400 - £18800 approximately.

We have rounded the total sum to £20000 to support with potential costs of the birth of their new born child in the very near future.

In short this family are in significant need of our help and support. If not supported their situation will continue to deteriorate. I have a son the same age as Ramlo and I cannot explain the emotions that stirred in me when I met with her.
