Our dear friend Mike Ledezma has been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer called chondrasarcoma which is cancer of the cartilage that connects muscles and joints. Less than one in a million people get it. The cancer started in his shoulder, but by the time they discovered it, it had already spread to his lungs and abdomen. He is currently undergoing immunotherapy with the goal of shrinking the cancer down enough to remove it surgically. Mike's insurance, unfortunately, does not cover his treatments which are very expensive.

 

Mike is the manager at Grand Slam Lodge- a fishing lodge located in the Mexican village of Punta Allen. He is a pillar in the industry and in his community. He has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the Punta Allen community and has been the go-to helping hand for hundreds of anglers over the 20+ years he has been with the lodge.

 

We are all sending him love and strength through this most challenging time, and would also like to help alleviate the financial burden he is under. Please consider giving whatever you can to help this amazing friend of ours.

With Mike's permission, all funds raised will be accepted by Erika Evert - Staff Accountant at Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures- to then be wired directly to Mike in Mexico to help pay for his ongoing medical treatments.
