Help for Our Amazing Grandma

Hi Everyone!
As you know, we are blessed with one heck of a Grandma. Her infectious laugh, positive spirit, generosity and emphasis on family has provided all of us with a solid foundation for our own families. As you also know, she is 90 years old, lives alone and is ridiculously independent. While she’s still sharp as a tack, we believe that her clarity and positive attitude has a lot to do with her great love for alllllll of her grandkids (who she speaks of to just about anyone who will listen) and also her independence.
A major aspect of her independence, and thus her clarity and positive attitude, is her car. While she is extraordinarily cautious, and only drives within about a one-mile radius from her house, this car affords her the ability to do her own shopping, go to the pharmacy, etc. All errands that not only provide her with something to do, but also the ability to take care of herself. While it may seem simple for us, at her age, this is crucial for her.
Grandma is also a creature of habit. Understandably, she likes predictability at her age. Therefore, she refuses to get a new car (even though it has been offered to her numerous times).
Over the past few months, apparently her beloved white Ford has been having hard times. First the air conditioning has been struggling (which in Florida is essential). And now, just recently, the engine started having problems. Because she’s Grandma, she refused to ask for help until very recently when the car was just having trouble “getting going.”
Unfortunately, the bill to fix her car is almost $2,500. Grandma just doesn’t have the money to pay for this.
Because Grandma has always been there for us, we hope that you can give back to Grandma in any way you can so that she can retain her independence and her beloved car. Even if it’s just $20.
Also, we ask that you please keep this GoFundMe a secret from Grandma until we present it to her, as she may become embarrassed. Also, please keep this private, amongst ourselves, and do not post it on any social media.
