Our dearest friend and sister, Freedom Thompson, who is always there to lend a helping hand, now needs one.

Freedom has been struggling with health issues for the last year, and is now struggling with medical debt. As she has served us so many times with food and love, let us now serve her by showing her the love and support she so desperately needs.

Chances are if you are part of the BIPOC community of Lincoln in any way, you’ve been touched by the work Freedom does. She is always there when called upon with a delicious and nutritious meal. She does not just “cook” a meal, she prepares every meal with love, with intention, with health and wellness in mind, and it is ALWAYS delicious! To Freedom, food is medicine, and in this way, she heals everyone she feeds.

She is also a visionary. As the founder and director of Roots To Rise, a cultural summer enrichment program for BIPOC youth, she has created a safe place where each kid is valued for who they are.

These are just a few of the many ways that Freedom has touched the hearts and lives of so many people.
