Help for baby Jaida

Donation protected
On May 8, at 5:13am, my sister in law Kim and her husband Kelly welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Jaida-Lynn Christine Ausman, to the world.

Due to unforeseen circumstances during the final minutes of delivery, Jaida went an unknown length of time deprived of oxygen. She was airlifted from Kelowna to Women’s and Children’s hospital in Vancouver were she has been receiving around the clock care by the many wonderful nurses, doctors and staff.

Jaida is currently in the NICU in critical condition. She is being kept in a cooling blanket, meant to prevent and stop any further brain damage to what she may have experienced already. On Monday, May 13th, she will have an MRI that will determine the extent of any harm to the brain (fingers crossed that there is very little!). I will keep this page updated with any further news next week regarding her condition, and Kim’s friend Lisa will also have access to this page to post any updates and to share with friends and family in the Okanagan.

I’ve started this go fund me page to help with any additional costs, such as travel between Kelowna and Vancouver for Kelly when he has to go back to work, any additional medical expenses and for whatever else may pop up along the way that is unpredictable right now. If you are in a position to donate anything - even a dollar - it would be greatly appreciated by this family. Kim and Kelly are two of the strongest, kindest, amazing people that bless this planet, and they are handling this new chapter of parenthood beyond and above anything I can comprehend.

Please share this amongst your friends and family, as I know how quickly this kind of thing can spread in the community, and many, many thanks in advance to those who can donate, and if not, share this page. And of course any good thoughts and prayers are always appreciated. :)
