Help Foot Soldiers Clean Bed-Stuy's #dirtystreets

Hi, my name is Barnabas, and like many of you, I am tired of how dirty the streets are in our neighborhoods. I started the Foot Soldiers to help the Bed-Stuy community stay clean. Unfortunately, due to the impact of COVID-19, our streets have had a drastic uptick in litter, dumping, and graffiti. This shift has caused widespread anxiety; #dirtystreets are creating trash havens that increase rodent populations. In addition, some of our streets are becoming eyesores. It's so bad that our team members started documenting our Brooklyn's unbelievably #dirtystreets on our Facebook & Instagram pages. This has been an ongoing issue; in fact, a letter by the Partnership for New York City (PNYC) and over 150 business leaders highlighted the importance of essential services and urged Mayor De Blasio to take action. The city has responded, so we are doing our part by providing our service expertise.

Empower the Foot Soldiers to adopt blocks in and around Bed-Stuy through NYC’s new 6-month long initiative called City Cleanup Corps (CCC). The city is creating jobs by providing the workers, and we have the systems to clean streets regularly. However, to make this initiative work, we still need you, sponsors, and local businesses to help. Funds raised will pay for the supplies, equipment, uniforms, and other project-related expenses.
