Baby Matthew was born with a severe heart defect. He had open heart surgery about a month ago in the United States and had to be re-intubated just a few weeks ago. Global Response Management has been advocating for and helping coordinate medical care for Baby Matthew. His parents Lena and Hank are hoping to be able to work soon, but are currently not able to do so.

My name is Elena Jiménez Gutiérrez, and I am an internal medicine doctor at University Hospital in San Antonio. Jenny Sevilla, founder of Austin Border Relief, and I have created this GoFundMe to help supplement funds for basic necessities and living expenses for his family over the next year so they can focus on baby Matthew's health and recovery.
