Now we need to just get
  • First month's rent
  • Replenish food
  • Final utility bills
  • new furniture once they've moved in
  • Any sudden expenses come up
We can not thank everyone enough for all the help and support. It means the world to know that my family will be in a better area and free from this building with all it's problems. My mom will be able to get her surgeries she needs to be able to walk better and manage the pain and be able to get a better handle on her health conditions as well as my  grandfather.

Hi my name is Caitlyn and I am Trina's daughter and I am writing this with Jessica a Tenant Organizer that has been working with my mom and helping the family with their landlord and building issues. I am trying to do whatever I can to help my family move out of a very awful situation. My family is my mother Trina, stepfather Nick, little brother Nathan and my grandfather Walter. We moved into this apartment in 2007 when we moved here from Florida. For many years the apartment went through stages of disrepair that were unhealthy to down right dangerous. Even though they have needed to move out due to the many health hazards in their unit and building, with the historically low tenancy rate that has been incredibly difficult. We have signed up for the NH ERAP to help with relocating but will possibly need a security deposit and first months rent available for a new landlord to secure the apartment since the check can take up to 6 weeks for them to receive and apartments rent quickly now. The program is great but they are extremely busy, as are our hotels that have an 8+ week wait list to get in, our shelters have a wait list now with some providing blankets to sleep outside in February on the ground or cot when full. The housing emergency has and is affecting those that lived in affordable housing the most. The past year has seen many of these buildings that were in such disrepair get suddenly bought and renovation evictions or severe rent increases go out, some as quick as the next day. This building in it's state of dilapidation was a prime target for a renovation eviction. Having the infestation of roaches and bed bugs means that a majority of their belongings will have to go to the dump. They will only be able to save what they can safely have treated or checked. My mom has been disabled for many years now on top of having a weakened immune system. My little brother has had asthma from a young age so being in another apartment free of these issues will be beneficial to him health wise a lot. My grandfather has been sick for a long time in and out of hospitals with home nurses that come to assist him at times refusing to enter due to infestations. They were constantly asking for treatment till they had to start doing it themselves. He also requires 24/7 oxygen to be able to breathe properly. Both my mom and grandfather are unable to work due to their health issues, because of this my stepfather is a stay at Home Caregiver while my brother is still in high school. This is why it's important to replace everything needed and I'm trying to help out as they have to start fresh with so little to begin with. The other hurdle is having the ability to put down first and security deposit within 24-48 hours of being asked. Most units have 500 plus calls for every ad, tougher restrictions and higher limits to head in the advantage of having that security deposit and first month's rent could be the Make It or break It of getting the apartment finally. It has become medically necessary to move out on top of reaching a settlement with the lawyers and landlord to renovate the apartment. They want to have them out as soon as possible, the lastest is April 1st. Adding together potential:
Cover application & Background checks
First month's rent & Security
Extra cleaning supplies to clean the apartment and what few possessions we will be taking
Moving supplies
Moving truck
Movers due to Nick can't move it all alone and will need some hired help
New furniture as needed, they will have to start a new life with less than the bare minimum.

We are looking for a first floor apartment with 2-3 bedrooms with 1-2 bathrooms that has or can accommodate handicap accommodations within 40 miles of Nashua or Manchester.
