Erin's Medical

Hi, my name is Ginny and I'm creating this fundraiser for my youngest daughter, Erin (Viozzi Nichols.)  Erin was recently diagnosed with cryoglobulinemia, a rare blood disease that causes the blood to turn to a jelly like substance when the body temperature drops below 98.5°.—part of a family of rare disorders characterized by inflammation of the blood vessels, which can restrict blood flow and damage vital organs and tissues. It has many comorbities and side effects such as vasculitis, headaches, exhaustion, and can also lead to worse problems like lymphoma, kindey and liver failure, strokes, anuerysms, etc. The treatment is an aggressive course of a medication which is a type of chemo. This is just another blow on top of other autoimmune diseases with which she already struggles.

 

Erin will be utilizing short term disability from her job, but that only pays out a percentage of her regular pay AFTER a 2 week waiting period (which is unpaid.) She has exhausted all of her PTO from work through numerous doctors appointments to get to this diagnosis. She has already attempted to borrow against her 401k and was unable to due to the high yield plan she is enrolled in. Erin is a single mom of two girls who receives no aide or child support. Any funds donated will assist with household expenses and gas to get back and forth to her treatments, which are 45 minutes away. 

 

Erin is strong, hard-working and can be quite stubborn and has difficulty asking for help when she needs it most, so I'm asking. If you are able to offer any type of assistance, it would be so very greatly appreciated. We don't know how long she will be out of work at this point and want to make life a little less stressful for her. God is good and we are praying for a miracle!
