Help Earthquake Rescue Efforts in Turkey
Donation protected
A devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake has hit Turkey leaving 5 cities in ruins and has now killed more than 9000 people and counting. This has been the most devestating natural disaster in the region in over 100 years and the govenrment has issued a level 4 emergency state, requesting the help of international organizations and governments.
There are tens of thousands of people still under the debris waiting to be rescued, including people we know. The situation is very severe to say the least.
As Cornell Turkish Students Association, we are raising donations that will all go towards funding rescue teams and purchasing essential items such as blankets, diapers, food, tents, and water.
Because of the exchange rate, $1= ~18 Turkish liras, which means that every dollar has a large impact.
For reference, $3 covers the cost of a 1 blanket, so truly every dollar counts.
As Cornell TSA, we greatly appreciate your help during this difficult time.
