Help duelin' Daxton battle cancer

Hi! My name's Daxton. Daxton Lybbert, spelled out big. Just days ago, I was chillin' on the beach with my main squeeze, Madi. She's my big sister. All good. She's cool. Check out the pics of her and me layin' out at the beach! That was days ago. Today? Different story. Read on.

Last year I decided to hitch along with my family--my dad (Michael), mom (Kara), Christian (my big brother...also cool), and Madi (my main squeeze...did I say she's cool?) all the way from Syracuse, UT to Okinawa, Japan. I was only five months old when we left but I've been growin' like seaweed here in Oki...and doing my best to be a beach bum while Dad works for the marines. We've been happy as clams, me 'n the fam. Oki's awesome! Till we ran aground on a sandbar we NEVER saw coming. Yup. Just found out 2 days ago.

I have cancer.

What the heck!?!? I'm barely 1 yr old! What's God thinking!?!? K...chill. My family has faith that stretches from here to heaven. And we've been ringin' the prayer phone off the hook. If you care to join, we'd be almighty grateful. Anyway...now Mom's my main squeeze.

So...cancer. Yeah. Suspectin' neuroblastoma. Not sure yet. I need to get off this paradise and get back to Utah for further diagnosis and extended care. See...my dad? He WORKS for the marines...he's not A marine. He's civilian. Guess that complicates insurance matters out here on an island in a foreign country when complex medical issues suddenly rock your boat house. So we've gotta blow this paradise and get back closer to home where family is anxious to help out best they can. Guess its hard on them too. Being so far away. Feelin' so helpless.

Not sure all that the future holds. We do know that I and my family have some duelin' to do to beat this. I guess it'll be my first BIG duel in life. Yep. Duelin' Daxton (thank you, Eagles). I'm aimin' to beat this bast%*@ (sorry, Mom)...uh...bad boy. Thanks for carin'. And takin' interest. And your best prayin'. And if you care to help out financially, that'd be mighty kind and I'd be mighty grateful. I hope to live long enough to thank you personally one day. If not here on Earth...then I'll hug ya in heaven. Sure as shootin'. Never mind all that...I'll hug ya anyway...long as Mom and Dad says ok.

Dad does have insurance to cover most of what we figger will be some mighty scary medical bills. Shoot, I'm takin' a private air ambulance from Oki to UT with a dedicated medical staff onboard! I bet that's at least $10! Unfortunately we're facing a mighty unknown with some mighty unknown costs. Dad'll have to stay behind with Christian and Madi for a time while I jet off with Mom and my medical staff. So we'll be maintaining 2 residences of some sort for an unknown amount of time. We certainly didn't expect to be suddenly pullin' up stakes. We're hopin' Uncle Sam lets Dad out of his contract so he can follow with Christian and Madi before too long and find new work. Meanwhile, we've gotta find a new place to lay our heads and toss our diapers, buy 2 cars, and who knows what else. Of course we're grateful for all God's tender mercies--we see them even under this dark cloud--but we're reaching out hopin' for some Earth angels too. Angels to lend a hand and help me and my family get back on our feet. Heaven knows, we're duelin' now.

In case you're wondering, my extended family is stepping up and helping out (some here and some privately with larger donations). Last check we were up to $20-$25K committed already. Gotta love family.

Well, gotta go now. More needles with my name on 'em.
