The last few months have been a time of recovery mixed with bouts of mixed feelings and emotions. My outlook on life and people has changed. I have been overwhelmed by people's kindness.Thank you to loved ones, friends and even new acquaintances for your show of love, taking time to pray, encourage and give. It's been a new experience and has made a big difference in my life!
Within the last few months, I have had the privilege to connect with doctors from two different clinics Issels and the Immuno Therapy Center. These doctors were extremely knowledgeable. After talking to them, the cost for treatments were cut to less than a third of the amount previously quoted by Issels clinic. The good news is the Immuno Therapy Center offers the same treatments as does Issels. They quoted $16,000 which includes, meals and lodging expenses. We have chosen the Immuno Therapy Center. At this present time, there is $4,700 in the gofundme account. Once again, I am asking for your help no matter how small. Our new goal is reachable. After years of striving to live healthy, being diagnosed with stage 2B ovarian cancer has been a shock! In August 2017, I began to experience persistent bleeding, UTIs, lung infections, and sinus infections. This continued for months which was puzzling for me and the doctors. In one of my ER visits, the doctor ordered a CT scan that showed a large abdominal mass. This news was completely devastating, especially because I never learned that the same mass appeared on an earlier ultrasound. On April 24, 2018, the mass was surgically removed. Since then, I have been recovering at home with family, preparing for the next phase of treatment that will target any residual cancer cells.
I am asking for your help in order to pursue the most innovative treatment with the least amount of side effects. This non-toxic immune therapy is based out of Issels Immuno-Oncology Center in Santa Barbara, CA and includes both an inpatient and outpatient phase that will cost around $60,000. Any help, no matter how small, will make a wonderful difference. This experience has been the hardest thing that I ever had to go through. Thank you so very much for your love, support, and prayers.
