For the past 9.5 years, Diego has been more than just our family dog—he’s been the heart and soul of our barber shop in Downtown Walnut Creek. Every day, Diego has greeted customers with his wagging tail and gentle spirit, making everyone feel welcome and brightening even the toughest days. He’s become a familiar face to so many in our community, and we can’t imagine our shop without him.
On Friday, November 21, our world was turned upside down when Diego suddenly developed vestibular disease. His sense of balance was completely disrupted—he couldn’t walk more than a few feet on his own, his head was stuck at a tilt, and he seemed so confused and disoriented. We took him to two different vet clinics, and both suggested that his condition might be caused by a brain tumor, but the only way to know the cause and the appropriate treatment is with testing. They recommended an MRI to determine the cause, but the cost is overwhelming for us right now. We have already spent nearly $2,000 in the past few days and his care.
We’re doing everything we can to help Diego recover, but we need support to give him the best chance. If Diego has ever made you smile or brightened your day, we would be so grateful for any help you can offer towards his veterinary care. Your kindness means the world to us and to Diego. Thank you for being part of his journey.
