Help Dana and Randy and their FIGHT to stay TOGETHER!

Spende geschützt
We are beginning a go fund me for Randy and Dana (Carter) Chapman who reside in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. with their son Charlie who is fourteen years old and very active in Lakeview Middle and LFO (this coming up
year) basketball, baseball, and football. Between them they also have five grown sons, three daughter-in-laws, and four beautiful grandchildren. Dana is a LFO alumni of 1996 and has been a licensed vet technician at local vet hospitals for many years. Randy is well known for his Bama Van, his sense of humor, and his ability to provide top of the line flooring service. This spring Dana was diagnosed with Invasive micropapillary carcinoma which is a rare form of breast cancer which is only manageable by surgery (which she has already been through two surgeries), chemotherapy, and then radiation. A few weeks later Randy was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. He has had one surgery on the baseball size tumor on his neck and will have radiation in the neck area. His oncologist voices that this is a very painful location for radiation and he will be receiving a feeding tube for nutrition as the treatments will affect his ability to swallow and then he will have six weeks of chemotherapy. When I asked them what they want for the future?? They said, “We just want to fight together and stay together. They will need not only need financial support, they are going to need a rallying of people for prayers and strength and the motivation to keep fighting when this race becomes weary. They have a great desire to keep life for Charlie as normal as possible and keep him active in LFO sports!! I will leave you with Dana’s last report, her own words, taken from her Facebook page “Dana’s Journey”. I saw my surgeon yesterday. She said things look good other than the seroma I am dealing with but she stated….that is to be expected under the circumstances and that will resolve over the next month or so. She also informed me that in addition to chemo I will have radiation. So I will have 12 weeks of chemo then most likely take four weeks off then will have to do 6-8 weeks of daily radiation Monday through Friday with weekends off. She said most likely 6 weeks but that will be up to my radiation oncologist.
Randy met with his social worker yesterday for the first time and that went well. She is also my social worker so we get to do those meetings together and can do counseling together if we choose to. It is so difficult that we are both going through this but for some reason it makes us feel stronger to have each other through this process not that we are glad that the other one is facing this hurdle.
Randy and I both meet with our medical oncologist tomorrow. We aren’t sure what will happen with Randy’s appointment yet but I am sure mine will be me getting the down low on my chemo and we will set the first round up most likely for next week. I’m really scared of that stuff being put in me but I have no choice. This is going to be very hard for me. And I’m sure Randy feels the same way. BUT WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER!! Praise God! Please consider reaching out to them. If not financially, then send a prayer, send a hug, send a word of encouragement, or come throw the football with Charlie. You can follow their journey at:

*go fund me charges a fee with each donation so there is also an cash app set up for her journey.

Thank you all… from Dana’s sister… who does not have the heart…to see her sister hurting. God Bless.

Every single penny will go to this family for medical needs and living cost. Neither of them will be able to work during this time due to their treatments. Help them stay in their home, keep Charlie playing in the sports he loves, and help them stay together.
