Help Fund Father & Son Cancer & Mental Health Care

My name is Damien Alan Lopez & I have dedicated my life to giving back to the community as a public servant in a nonprofit organization & as an LGBTQ author. As a proud queer trans man, I have passionately advocated for bodily autonomy, Black Trans Lives & work to uplift marginalized voices. However, the past six months have been particularly challenging as I have taken on the role of caregiver full time for my father, Fernando, who is battling terminal lung & bone cancer. This experience has profoundly affected my mental health & made it increasingly difficult for me to continue my job.

I find myself in a position where I must ask for help—something that has always been difficult. I am reaching out to seek support for my mental health program expenses, which are crucial for my well-being during this emotionally taxing time. Additionally, donations will assist with my father’s medical care, allowing me to provide him with the support he needs while managing my own challenges. Your contributions will not only help alleviate the financial burden but will also empower me to continue my advocacy work in the future, which is so vital to my identity.

Medical Bills & Treatment Costs: Includes surgery, treatments, hospitals, doctors, medications, mobility aids & rehabilitation fees, etc. not covered by insurance.

Transportation: Plane tickets for Fernando to travel back home comfortably & for family to accompany & support him.

Expenses for Care: Support for daily living costs during my unpaid leave.
