Help dad after devasating lightning strike

Donación protegida

Since I was six years old I was raised by my dad. When my parents divorced he was left with the hull of the boat he wanted to build for our family, a full time job - no house, and me - a little six year old very stubborn girl. We lived in a small caravan, later on the half built boat and especially after the divorce and the burn out that followed while trying to keep on living we lived on extremely little money. Nevertheless my dad always kept going, he always pursued his dream to one day set sail again on his own ship. The one he started to build as a family home but now seemed like a never-ending hole to pour energy and money into. But it was our only home, our only hope. This boat was the only thing we had. We lived for it with the hope of seeing her set sail again one day. She is a replica of a 65ft Norwegian fishing cutter. Built entirely by the hands of my dad. His blood, sweat and tears are literally in her. It took him nearly 20 years to finish her. This year 2021 he was hoping to finish all of the rigging, like the wishbones and finalise some little details in order to finally, after more than 20 years, set sail again - to live his dream. He was so close when one fatal night lightning hit the mast, luckily he had the mast grounded well and the hull remains intact but all of the electronics onboard have fried. Think about water pumps, heater, lights, switches, inverters, batteries, navigation equipment etc etc. Right now he has nothing as nothing on board is working, no power, no warm water and no money to repair any of it.

This breaks my heart, my dad has worked effortlessly not only on his boat but also to give me the best childhood I could wish for - he was and is always there for me, he taught me to believe in myself, to keep going no matter what, to follow my dreams. I can’t even start to describe how much he has done for me over my life. I could fill up books with it. All I want now is to see my dad be able to full-fill his dream and finally live the life he deserves. I have started this fundraiser in the hopes of getting enough funds to repair the damage that the lightning strike has done. Please if anyone has any of the spare equipment that has been fried let me know. And anyone willing and able to donate - every euro is going to make a tremendous difference in helping my dad to finally live the life he has fought for so incredibly hard and so very very much deserves! Please help! Thank you <3

The Havorn, so close to being finished - on the place where she has been hit by lightning.
