Help Claire Phillips Achieve Her Legal Dreams

Hi! My name is Claire Phillips and I am a recent graduate at American University. I study everything. I have my BA in Political Science with a concentration in Gender, Race, and Politics. I studied African American Studies and Theater as well as being onthe pre-law track. I also hold a certification in Social Action, Justice, and the Performing Arts. I held an above a 3.6 cummulative GPA, have been on the Dean's List multiple times, and graduated Cum Laude. I have also had the privlege of being able to purse my academic endeavors abroad at the University of Edinburgh last spring.

Furthermore, throughout my time at American University I have worked over 5 jobs to finance myself and my education. Some of my main roles have been being an Orientation Leader and an AUx Peer Faciliator. I also was a Sine Institute associate to Anna Deveare Smith. I have gained internship experience as well. I have worked with LA & DC based film production studios (Sarea Flo Productions and Entertainment 2 Affect Change) and I have worked at top entertainment corporations (NBCUniversal). In these roles I worked on many sets and also pitched tv shows to company executives.I am and have been president of multiple clubs and organizations (AU Rude Mechanicals, Black Girls Vote, AU Brave Spaces, AU Radical World Players). At my time at AU I have written/directed a music video (Mona Lisa) and a short film (I Hate Your Stupid Face) with my own film production company Metamorphosis Productions. I have worked as a videographer for DMV based dance group Kosmos Krew and have represented brands such as Dormify and Pura Vida.

My dream and goal is to be an entertainment lawyer. I want to be able to work with artists and performer such as myself to negotiate fair contracts. I want to work with entertainment unions and guilds to protects artists and their interests. However, law school and applying to law school is expensive.
