Help Chrissy Fight Cancer and Get Her Life Back

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out to you today to ask for your support for a truly special person in our lives—our dear friend Chrissy. Chrissy is an amazing, outgoing, and fun-loving individual who has always lived life to the fullest. She loves hiking, hanging with friends at rock shows and bike weeks like Shiprocked and Sturgis, traveling the world to learn other cultures and making friends along the way. For the last 10 years, she dedicated herself to a career she loves in Experiential Marketing, creating unforgettable experiences for brands and consumers.

But a little less than two years ago, everything changed.

In what seemed like an instant, Chrissy's life was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with a rare type of Squamous Cell Carcinoma, where most hospitals and clinics only see 10-15 cases per year, with only a few hospitals who have experts making this type & location of cancer their field of study. Despite living a healthy lifestyle and feeling relatively normal, this aggressive cancer had already metastasized. Chrissy has tried chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy and a trial at the National Institutes of Health, where she had to constantly travel back and forth to the greater DC area, and she hasn't been able to overcome this relentless disease.

Throughout this battle, Chrissy had to put her life on hold. She had to quit the job she loved, stop traveling, and move back in with her father in New Mexico, where she doesn't have the support of her friends to help her through this, nor any income at all coming in. The cancer has really taken a toll on her mind, body and spirit, and she is also dealing with side effects from treatments.

Now, Chrissy is facing another challenge: securing the next round of treatment that she needs. She’s on Medicaid due to being unable to work, which only covers NM in-state treatment. However, the experts she desperately needs to see to try and save her life, along with more extensive radiation choices, are all out of state. Unfortunately, her medical insurance has turned down every single one of her requests and she is left with the impossible choice of paying for this expert second opinion and potentially treatments as well, out of pocket. The cost of self-paying is shockingly expensive, and Chrissy is running out of options.

Chrissy is not one to ask for help. She had hoped to deal with this cancer and get back out there without anyone knowing the difference, but unfortunately it's gone too far for that. Her close friends, who have seen her strength and determination, convinced her that asking for support is the best way to get her the treatment she deserves.

We are asking for your help to make sure Chrissy gets the care she needs to beat this cancer and reclaim her life. Your donations will go directly toward her medical expenses and any treatment options that are not covered by insurance.
