Help Cherri Rebuild Her Home and Heart After Losing Tom to Cancer
After 42 years of love, laughter, and shared dreams, Cherri lost her beloved husband, Tom, to a courageous battle with cancer. Tom was her rock, a devoted partner, and a man whose kindness touched everyone around him. Now, Cherri faces an unimaginable void—not only in her heart but in the home they built together. In the midst of their grief, a home remodel project has stalled, leaving their house incomplete and a poignant reminder of plans they made as a couple.
Before Tom’s diagnosis, he and Cherri embarked on a heartfelt remodel to transform their home into a cozy haven for their retirement years. Tom, always dreaming big, poured his energy into the project alongside Cherri. But unexpected challenges arose, including rising costs and setbacks with the contractor’s work, which stretched their savings thin, the remodel came to a halt. Leaving the house with unfinished walls, incomplete plumbing, and other work still needed to make it fully livable. Cherri, now widowed, lacks the resources to complete the project on her own. Graciously the Cornerstone Church has stepped in to help push this project forward. But there are still significant costs that need to be covered even with the amazing volunteer work being provided.
We’re hoping to raise $20,000 to:
• Complete critical repairs (plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, paint, landscaping).
• Cover materials the church volunteers are unable to provide.
• Ensure Cherri’s home is safe and livable again.
Every dollar will go directly to the remodel, managed transparently with updates shared here. If we exceed our goal, extra funds will support Cherri’s ongoing living expenses as she navigates this new chapter.
Cherri has always been there for others—now it’s our turn to be there for her. Your donation, no matter the size, will help rebuild her home and show her she’s not alone. If you can’t give, please share this campaign to spread the word. Let’s honor Tom’s memory by surrounding Cherri with love and support. Together, we can turn her house back into a home.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading Cherri’s story and for any help you can offer. Your kindness will make a lasting difference in her life.
