Help Chad Crush Cancer

On Thursday, March 12, 2020 Chad and his family received the most devastating news, his cancer is back. The life they once knew slipped away right before their eyes. He once again has Leiomyosarcoma, but this time it is terminal. It is large and very aggressive. The cancer is in his entire left lung, several masses in his right lung, chest, back, shoulder and around his heart. With the extent of the cancer surgery is not an option.
Chad’s team of doctors at Mayo put together the best option to try to shrink and slow the cancer down with hopes of giving Chad nine to twelve months. Chad is starting strong radiation treatments and in April he will meet with his oncologist team and start chemo. The doctors are also trying to control Chad’s continuous pain with fears this will only get worse with radiation.
Chad, his beautiful wife Tristin along with their two kids, Maxx and Kyla, are taking it hour by hour, one day at a time. Their hearts are shattered. They are trusting in God to help them navigate through this unimaginable time with prayers for a miracle. Hope is not lost in the Maatta household. Chad is a fighter, he is not ready to say goodbye. Tristin, Maxx and Kyla are his biggest fans and are by his side to help him fight this every step of the way.....together they are going to prove the doctors wrong.
Let’s rally behind them and let them know they are not alone. My heart breaks for them, I cannot even imagine what their days look like and all the different emotions that go along with it. Let’s all help Chad with this fight and help the financial burden they are going to face. The money raised will go towards medical bills, gas for daily appointments, and living expenses. At some point, Tristin will need to take a temporary break from her childcare in order to care for Chad and be by his side as he fights for his life. They are so uncertain and loaded with stress knowing Chad is not able to return to work at this time. I know Tristin loves her childcare families and Chad anxiously wants to return to work at the City of Prior Lake as soon as possible, but right now being together as a family is most important. The time they have left together should be spent without the worries of money.
Let’s do what we can to give them as much time possible together as a family without the worry of working. COVID-19 is a scare for all of us, but with Chad’s condition he is very vulnerable and needs to be extremely careful. This has added even more stress to their day to day living especially with all of his appointments. At this time they are not able to have visitors due to the added risks. I know there is so much uncertainty with the world right now, but please consider helping this wonderful family and donate. No amount is too small.
