My name is Sandra and Cesar is my beloved brother. As many of you know, Cesar loved to travel, explore the world, and make new friends, which led him to building a beautiful life in New York City. He attended weddings to celebrate love in Oaxaca, Mexico City, and Spain these last few years. His community is far and wide. During this difficult time, it’s been an honor to see how much my brother was loved for being that loving, playful, loyal friend, and son that he is. Not only was Cesar able to accomplish his dreams of moving to New York City, but he also built a whole world of people who cherished every moment they had with him.

It saddens me to say that I’ve only been able to meet this community for the first time under very difficult circumstances. On Monday, June 16th, Cesar suffered an unexpected seizure triggered from a condition called AVM (arteriovenous malformation), causing severe brain and spinal cord damage. He underwent cranial surgery to relieve pressures on his brain, however, Cesar stopped responding to medications and treatments. His condition was too poor to recover from this.

My parents and I need all the support we can get. Any donations are helpful, whether it’s a dollar or a prayer for my family. My brother was being treated in a New York hospital, which put our family in a difficult financial situation as we live in Arizona. Any funds raised will go directly to his medical bills, transportation of his body back to Tucson, Arizona, and funeral costs.

We appreciate the outpouring of support. It is so clear that my brother was loved dearly here. I’ve received many calls and texts from many of you and it means the world to see how loved he was while conquering his dreams in New York City.
