Hi, my name is Veronica Fernandez, and I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my best friends Adriana Perez and Christopher Mills, whose sweet 18-month-old son, Carson Mills, was recently diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL)—an aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow.

This devastating disease occurs when the bone marrow produces too many abnormal B-lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell that’s meant to fight infection.

Everything happened so suddenly. One moment, my best friend of 15 years was cuddling and playing with her happy, energetic baby boy—then, out of nowhere, they were at the hospital surrounded by doctors and nurses delivering the life-changing news: Carson has cancer.

As a parent, hearing the word “cancer” tied to your child freezes time. You’re flooded with guilt, fear, and helplessness—wishing you could take the pain away, but are unable to.

Thankfully, Adriana and Chris have stayed strong and are doing everything in their power to get Carson the care he needs. Carson has already shown incredible bravery, but his battle is just beginning. His treatment plan includes intense chemotherapy, frequent doctor visits, and long hospital stays—expected to last over two years.

Let me tell you a bit about this amazing family:

Adriana is a dedicated mother of two—Carson and his big sister Aylani. She works in property management while also being a full-time, hands-on mom. For the past 15 years, I’ve watched her grow into a strong, loving woman who always puts her family first.

Christopher is a proud U.S. Army veteran who served as a medic. He’s not only a devoted father, but someone who has stood by his country and his family with incredible strength. Together, Adriana and Chris are doing everything they can for Carson—but they can’t do it alone.

This fundraiser will help cover medical costs, transportation to and from the hospital, and daily living expenses while they focus on what matters most: Carson’s recovery.
