Hello everyone! I am creating this page on behalf of my husband Michael Beno.

As some of you may know his history of cancer we have recently been trying to get him the teeth he so desperately needs and deserves.

For those who don’t know here’s a recap of the last 7 years.

November 5, 2018 our worlds turned upside down as we sat in the ER for over 5 hours waiting to be seen for a terrible migraine and extreme abdominal pain Mike had been having for weeks. We simply were not prepared for what came next.

A one word diagnosis that changes everything. Cancer. We then were transported straight to RUSH and began treatment immediately as there was no time to even process what we were told. Time was not something we could waste.

3 rounds of chemotherapy

Over 10 bone marrow biopsies

1 stem cell transplant

A second round of stem cells later on

Chemotherapy pill daily

And many things in between..

Before his stem cell transplant he had 7 teeth pulled at once because of infection they had to get rid of before doing his transplant. The chemotherapy and many other strong medications have wrecked the health of his existing teeth.

We have had 2 consultations done which are quoted at about $60,000 and as we try to apply for loans it simply seems impossible to achieve.

We recently were told by a family member about a dentist office in Texas which can use medical insurance to help cover the cost of medically necessary surgery for teeth. We reached out and have been told we are approved which is amazing news.

What happens next is we have to go to Texas and get X-rays and exams done for them to send over to insurance and from there we wait 4-6 weeks to hear back and they will tell us what coverage is and what the plan is from there if it goes well we will go back for the surgery for temporary teeth and once they heal in 6 months go back once more for the permanent set.

Mike and I both work full time but if everything goes as planned it will take a lot to be traveling back and forth from Illinois to Texas multiple times and be off work.

Times are tough right now for everyone but anything donated will be extremely appreciated while we go through this process. All donations will be for travel expenses, medical bills, etc.

Mike has been through so much deserves to be able to eat without having pain on a daily basis. As it is right now he cannot eat many foods without teeth breaking or causing pain. It has been a struggle for him to maintain a healthy weight over these 7 years between the medications and not being able to eat many things. At 29 years old he deserves to have teeth just like everybody else. We truly appreciate all of the support from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for taking time to read.
