Help Camp Deen

As Salamu Alaykum!

 

Camp Deen is a summer camp located in Southern Ontario for Muslim youth ages 7-16 that has been running for over 4 decades. At Camp Deen, we strive to give the kids a safe, fun, and wholesome week of learning about nature, Islam, and themselves.

 

Due to COVID-19, Camp Deen has been unable to run since 2019 and our community has faced immense financial issues. These impacts are even more significant on our low-income and refugee campers who have historically been given subsidies to be able to attend camp for the week. Unfortunately, we currently do not have the budget needed for this and because we lost our campsite three years ago, we're also facing more financial burden due to renting a larger site. We're ready to bring back Camp Deen, but we're asking our community to open their hearts and help us see the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel.

 

Especially during this time, safe spaces for Muslim kids to learn about alternative and progressive interpretations of Islam as well as connect with other kids and meet compassionate Muslim role models is incredibly important.

 

By donating to us, you will be ensuring that a camper gets to experience the best week of the year, regardless of their parent's economic position. Inshallah, with these funds, more than 20 campers will get to reconnect with Islam, nature, and themselves.
